What is Atelier Bogoria?

Atelier Bogoria is a curated space for African stories, craftmanship and culture - through art, books, coffee, wine and intimate events. Everything is rooted in place and the makers behind it.

Where does the name Atelier Bogoria come from?

Atelier Bogoria is named after Lake Bogoria in Kenya. Jori lived in Nairobi for a while, at Bogoria Street. A beautiful lake full of flamingo's and hot springs. A lake that many tourists won't have in their itinerary. A lake of many stories.

Do I need to know about coffee, wine, art or African literature to join an event?

Not at all. Atelier Bogoria is for the open-minded and curious. No expertise needed - just willingness to slow dow and explore.

Where do the products come from?

Artworks are sourced directly from the talented makers.

Sourcing of books depends on availability. Sometimes through distributors like Gardners, sometimes directly from the continent.

Some coffee is sourced directly from the farmer like our Ngacha. We also buy from trusted traders like This Side Up or from our friends from Roast Factory.

Wines are sourced from various importers. But we always have direct contact with the winemakers as well.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet - for now we only ship within the Netherlands.

How long does the shipping take?

Orders are usually shipped within 2-3 business days. You'll receive a track & trace as soon as it's on it's way.

Free local delivery every Wednesday.

Can I return or exchange an item?

Yes. You can return items within 14 days of delivery (3 days for coffee), as long as they are unused and in original condition.

What if I'm not happy with a product?

Please contact us to and we'll figure out a solution that works for you.

Are the art prints limited editions?

Yes. All prints are limited in number and signed by the artist. Once sold out, they won't be reprinted.

Where do your events take place?

Stories & Soils events take place in different locations. In Leiden and nearby areas mostly. But it's possible to host in other cities or areas as well. Locations remain intimate and small-scale to maintain the atmosphere.
